Video: College and career readiness, explained

To succeed in North Carolina’s workforce, it’s important to attain a high school diploma or G.E.D. But merely having a diploma doesn’t guarantee success. A more reliable indicator is a metric called college and career readiness. What does that mean, and how is our state doing?

This is part 3 of 5 in our video series explaining North Carolina’s Leaky Educational Pipeline & Pathways to 60% Postsecondary Attainment with the help of Rebecca Tippett, director of Carolina Demography and co-author of the study. Watch part 1 and part 2.

Editor’s note: EdNC has partnered with Carolina Demography and the Belk Endowment to highlight key concepts from the report, “North Carolina’s Leaky Educational Pipeline & Pathways to 60% Postsecondary Attainment.” The Belk Endowment supports the work of EdNC.
