Eye to Eye announces major initiative to reach 25% of middle school students

The following is a press release from Eye to Eye

Eye to Eye National is launching its five-year Amplify and Innovate plan; a plan that would expand its reach from 1% of all middle school students with a learning disability/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to 25% by 2024.

Over the past twenty years, Eye to Eye has empowered more than 10,000 students in a wide range of school settings through a refined social and emotional curriculum. More than a dozen scientific studies back the intervention, and a recently published three-year UCSF program evaluation study further validates the program’s impact. The Amplify and Innovate plan looks to grow what is currently working, launch new product extensions, and invest in continued high-scale innovation. “Eye to Eye has the track record and the research. Now is the time for us to scale our proven work to reach more students,” says Eye to Eye’s Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer, David Flink. Eye to Eye will expand the reach of its mentoring program to more than 500 schools, and 10,000 students annually across the country by 2024, as well as expand its partnerships with leading policy and advocacy organizations.

In addition to the expansion of its current programming, Eye to Eye will introduce two new product extensions. Its educator training is expected to reach an additional 45,000 students by giving teachers the tools to facilitate the Eye to Eye curriculum in the classroom. Another 25,000 students will experience the community of awareness-building and advocacy through the second extension of a club-based model. Lastly, Eye to Eye has invested resources into continuous innovation, including launching a new Impact and Innovation department. The team is dedicated to continuous program design, evaluation, and improvement, as well as developing and implementing specialized tech-based programs to reach an additional 150,000 students.

The process of developing this plan included deep investments of our staff, Board, and key partners in the field, as well as market analysis and determining best practices from current research. Of the $10M in growth capital required to jump-start this ambitious plan, Eye to Eye has already secured $3M from early investors including the Oak Foundation, a long-standing supporter of Eye to Eye, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and some of the leading foundations and individual philanthropists in the education, disability, and broader social justice and equity field.
