According to the 74 Million, Axios Executive Editor Mike Allen is sitting down with a trio of governors spanning the country and the political spectrum Friday, leading individual conversations with Govs. John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Roy Cooper (D-NC), and Butch Otter (R-ID) about states’ responsibilities in raising the academic bar for students and exploring what methods are proving successful in lifting student achievement. Doors open in Washington, D.C. at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to Jeremy Anderson at the Education Commission of the States, “The States Leading campaign will highlight and celebrate the progress states are making to improve education for all students across the country. Through social media, weekly email updates and events, the campaign will feature innovative state policies and share stories of the promising practices underway in classrooms today.”

The Joint Legislative Task Force on Education Finance Reform meets today at 10am in 544 LOB.

The NC Professional Educator Preparation and Standards Commission is meeting on Friday at 9am.
