Advocacy, priorities, equity, absenteeism, and more

The North Carolina Association for Public Charter Schools is holding charter school advocacy day from 10am-2pm today. According to the association’s website, charter school teachers, administrators, board members, parents, and students are invited to “help us create a more purposeful voice against reinstating the charter school cap in our state.” Here is more information. EdNC’s Rupen Fofaria will be there to cover a press conference we expect to be held at 10am in support of the cap, and also the association’s advocacy day. Weigh in on Twitter at #nced.

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, The 74, Education Week, The NC Tribune, The Insider, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, WUNC, WFAE, Brookings, Education Commission of the States, and DPI’s News. A cross section of diverse sources are checked weekly and monthly. If you have an article you think needs to be included, email [email protected].
