Equity + Education

Last night, EducationNC convened many in our community to hear four men of color talk about equity + education and reshaping philanthropy. My thanks to all of you for building this safe + brave space with us. Check out my Twitter @Mebane_Rash to weigh in.

Due to the impact of the storm on North Carolina’s public school systems, the CASMT application submission deadline has been extended to Oct. 1, 2018. We will continue to monitor recovery efforts and provide updates based on the status of school system closings. The Career Award for Science and Mathematics Teachers, or CASMT, is a five-year award available to outstanding science and/or mathematics teachers in North Carolina public schools. Funding provides $175,000 during the grant period ($35,000 per year) to eligible teachers who have demonstrated knowledge of science and/or mathematics content and have outstanding performance records in educating children. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund will support up to six CASMT awards with annual installments as noted above. Electronic applications only will be accepted. Get more information here
