In the 2014–2015 school year, an estimated 735,000 students were enrolled across the 58 community colleges in North Carolina, with more than 35,000 faculty and staff employed. For comparison, the UNC system reports having just over 221,000 graduate and undergraduate students in 2014. Based on the number of campuses, the North Carolina Community College system is the 3rd largest in the nation. This week, the EducationNC team is visiting all 58 community colleges across the state. This blitz is an opportunity for us and for you to get to know them better — from where they are to who they serve to their leaders and the role they play in the community and economic development across our state.
